Storyline

A sleepwalking teen straps a camera to himself and discovers a sinister family secret.
Reviews: There is a lot to like about this movie; it uses its limited budget well, the dialogue is great, the acting is solid and it has a unique story. All of these things add up to a decent horror comedy that fans of low budget horror will enjoy.
That being said it is also important to know not to expect some crazy, blood-soaked monster mash as things don’t really get going in that department until near the end and are pretty tame, most likely due to budget restrictions. Instead the film is a more personal story, and a good one, it’s just that with the title and the poster you might get the wrong idea and be expecting something you aren’t going to get (a bit like Gareth Edwards’ Monsters). It also has a few problems with pacing and logic, i.e. events occurring without any build up and then forgotten about until convenient, but nothing too off-putting.
This movie demands a lot of attention and has a lot packed into the first hour for the final act to pay off properly, but overall it has enough going for it to give it a shot. It works well as both a comedy and a horror, just know going in that it is a story-heavy movie rather than a mindless gore-fest and you won’t be disappointed.

Storyline

City lawyer Brad Walker (Matt di’Angelo) is having the worst day of his life. On a night out drowning his sorrows with old friend Dean (Jeff Leach), he overhears a conversation between Phil (Darren Ripley) and Ben (Stephen Marcus) – two drug dealers working for small-time gangster Jack (Alan Ford) – that will change his life forever…
Reviews:  It’s not often that I end up watching a film almost entirely without merit purely by my own choice but unfortunately I have only myself and some misleading critic reviews to blame for this wasted 90 minutes.
The storyline is so unbelievable that it makes eastenders seem like a gritty east end documentary/drama. The characters are both exceptionally shallow and deeply flawed, the dialogue is mostly appalling other than a few mildly amusing interchanges between some of the villains and the most appealing part of the whole movie is the ending – not the content of the ending itself but the actual cessation of poor quality viewing that was truly like a weight being lifted from my chest.
I love a shameless “glamorous” gangster flick like lock stock, snatch or layer cake but this is nothing like those. It’s a very cheap impersonation. This film is the movie equivalent of one of those fake aftershaves you see a street vendor selling for £5 on a stall in turkey.
Save your time and do something more productive like sitting in the dark alone rather than watch this.

Storyline

When a successful country lawyer captures and attempts to “civilize” the last remaining member of a violent clan that has roamed the Northeast coast for decades, he puts the lives of his family in jeopardy.
Reviews:  The Woman arrives on DVD and Bluray amidst almost a year of controversy and festival runs. The picture was accused of misogyny, horrific violence, and bad music. Two of these three things are true. Let’s just say certain musical selections don’t really make sense in a film of this subject, and the violence will surely have innocents running for the door. “The Woman” sports a deeply feminist view upon domestic violence and the domination of man over women in contemporary society. However the film does not focus it’s killer’s eyes on the disturbing, horrible men featured here. A crucial moment underlines the idea that we all have the power to change a lurid situation drastically, and if you do not seize that opportunity, you are just as guilty as an aggressor. My heart broke for all the women in this film, including the titular cannibal. They endure some of the worst male behavior ever seen in a suburban, or civilized, society and the violence that embeds the last half hour is blunt and brutal. Director Lucky McKee injects so much energy into this film, but he doesn’t glorify the violence. It’s the audience’s choice, myself included, to crack a smile when certain characters get what’s coming to them. Prepare to be made uncomfortable, disturbed, scared, and finally short of breath by The Woman.

Reviews:  If your hoping the pact 2 is as good as the first outing of this impressive horror thriller film well im sorry to say you will be disappointed. The first film had something extra to add to the recent outings of horror films and gave the feeling this could be a new exciting franchise. The story was well thought and carried on from the first film but the acting and how it was put together was the let down for this sequel, the fright scenes were few and far between which after watching the first one I was excited to watch the sequel but 30 mins into the 95 minute attempt of a sequel you really lose interest. The saving grace is there is potential to make a third outing for the carpet hateing killer and lets hope they do make it and go back to how they done the first one as this has the potential to be a good franchise as lets be honest there have not been many lately and the only competition would be the never ending paranormal activity which has gotten dull. The pact 3 could work the same as sinister 2 and insidious 3, the future could be bright for horrors.

Storyline

The Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard platoon deal with a visiting female journalist and a German spy as World War II draws to its conclusion.
Reviews:  When news first emerged of a Dad’s Army film early last year, the main cry from the fans and general public alike was ‘but why?’. Unfortunately, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the end product does absolutely nothing to alter this.
Beautiful German spy Rose Winters (Zeta-Jones) comes into a small town to gather information for the Nazis, blinds everyone with her looks, manipulates them to her bidding while everyone runs around suspecting everyone else but her of undercover nefariousness. Yes, it really is that derivative. It’s a plot that could have been lifted lock, stock from a hundred TV movies produced from 1960 until 1980, but tellingly probably none since.
It’s obvious that a lot of thought has been put in to casting as every character is perfectly shaped to match his respective character from the original series, and every one really tries to do as good a job as possible. Admittedly Bill Nighy is incapable of playing anyone other than Bill Nighy but it works as bumbling Oxford boy Sergeant Wilson, Toby Jones is almost indistinguishable from Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring, Tom Courtenay does a fair Clive Dunn impression and Gambon was born to play Godfrey. But casting alone does not a film make.

Storyline

Reviews:  A lavish royal court spectacle, a compelling drama of love, strife, and betrayal, the new Korean film “Portrait of a Beauty” has it all: history, art, romance, adventure. The San Francisco premiere is today (3/20) in the 4-Star Theater on Clement.
As most recent works from the burgeoning Korean film industry, “Portrait” is expertly directed (by Yun-su Jeon, also responsible for screenplay), and beautifully photographed.
Taking place in the 18th century, the story begins in the family of famous court painters, where the young son is trained to take his place among the privileged royal artists – but he lacks talent.
His sister, at age 7, is already so accomplished that she paints for him secretly. When the subterfuge is discovered within the family, the boy commits suicide, and the girl is forced to take his name (Yoon-bok), and live as a man. Rather than telling the plot the movie, the story described so far is just the very beginning, the basis for a lengthy, rich adventure to unfold.
The hero/heroine is played by the unassuming but outstanding actress Min-sun Kim. Her character, pretending to be a man, rises to fame and fortune (as we are treated to picturesque scenes of court and town life), and then creates a new school of painting,

Storyline

Both are extremely practically minded, and as such decide to explore each other by starting a casual physical relationship, while she continues looking for more suitable husband and he avoids commitment.
Reviews:  Marriage Is a Crazy Thing is poet-become-director Yu Ha’s second feature, starring Corean pop star Uhm Jung Hwa, now a veteran in the pop scene.
Yu, who also wrote the screenplay, crafts a story about a man, Junyoung, and a woman, Yeonhee, who meet on a blind date and begin a love affair, which only becomes complicated when she gets married. While I think many that watch this film will see a film about a woman who gets to “have her cake and eat it too”, in terms of marrying for money and having a lover on the side (see the Eagles song, “Lying Eyes”), the protagonist is actually the man and I read it as a story about a guy who’s both too stupid and cynical to understand this woman that he’s become attached to.
